Feckless Chuck Schumer Puts It All in Perspective

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) hailed the result in a speech today as “the largest and most bipartisan vote in any impeachment trial in history.”

A great day for those keeping score. Don’t ever forget this stat, it’s bound to come up in countless trivia contests.

For the rest of us seeking accountability and results, it will never happen with Democratic leadership [sic] like this.

Abolish Schumer!

Abolish Feinstein!

Abolish the Senate!

  1. That is total bullshit. VOTE OUT THE REPUBLICANS WHO REFUSED TO CONVICT TRUMP. LAY THE FAILURE WHERE IT BELONGS, WITH TRUMP AND THE OTHER CRIMINAL REPUBLICANS!

    1. The sad thing is they see only what they want to see. And with all these fringe news services out there all they have to do is find one that agreers with them and they feel validated. I think journalism needs to change drastically.

  2. Let the Replugicans divide into two heinous parties, which would work out well for the Dems, especially if they devote themselves to making room for more progressive younger congresspeople.

    1. One can only hope.In the meantime exert your influence and have one of your journalist friends do an expose of the Senate. With so much campaign money flowing, every piece of legislation should have an analysis of how each senator voted based on the donations they received. In detail, the nature of the communications with lobbyist. It should be public record.

No more of the is Beltway insider BS, he struggled with his conscience, didn’t want to lose the moderate voters back home.

And how can 90 year olds like Feinstein, Shelby, and Grassley continue to function under all this pressure? Either the job isn’t that demanding or they’re super human. What’s their secret?

Maybe it’s like Sophia said on the Golden Girls about one of her longer surviving friends, “you couldn’t pry the yoghurt out of her hands.”
